Design

The Design of the Mont Alpi

There are many outdoor pizza oven options available today, and the Mont Alpi tabletop pizza oven is definitely one of the best models we’ve used. It functions almost exactly how a conventional pizza oven would, and you can even use it for food other than pizza.

The oven comes with a U-shaped burner made with high-quality stainless steel that heats up to 620 degrees Fahrenheit within as little as five minutes, with up to 12,000 BTU.

food items that we can cook on mont alpi

The oven features an effective and simple design that can give you great results, and it takes no time to cook—enjoy your pizza within five minutes. It really does work as well as an indoor pizza oven would work, whether you whether you want to cook a pizza or another food item such as a steak or chicken.

how to carry Mont Alpi

One of the best aspects of its design is that you can easily mount it into a built unit to enjoy cooking wherever you are. You can enjoy the perfect cooking experience on your patio or deck just, or take the oven with you on your next camping trip or vacation in your RV.

The easy-to-use temperature control knob and gauge make it easy to preheat the oven to around 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Once preheated, all you need to do is place the item you want to cook on the stone and close the oven door, checking occasionally until it’s done. You can use this oven with either a 1 lb. disposable propane tank or a 20 lb. standard tank, depending on where you’re cooking and how much gas you need.

Straight-Forward Setup and Assembly

As soon as your Mont Alpi is home, you’re likely eager to try it out. However, there is some assembly required before you can enjoy this oven. Thankfully, it’s pretty easy to set the oven up using the instructions that Mont Alpi provides. You shouldn’t have any problems with putting the oven together and getting it ready for use. If you do experience any issues or find that anything is unclear, there are videos on YouTube that can help guide you along.

Keep in mind that there will be a lot of parts to work with, which can be overwhelming at first, but you’ll find that setup is easier than in initially looks. Setting up this oven may take some time. For one person, it can take around two hours to complete.

Once you’ve set up the oven, it’s time to give it a try.

The Mont Alpi’s Performance

It doesn’t take any time at all to heat up the oven, and it’s very easy to use the lighter ignition. Within five minutes you should reach over 450 degrees, at which time you can insert food items and begin cooking. You should be able to get the results you want in no time, checking occasionally and rotating your pizza or other foods to ensure even cooking.

We found that this oven cooks very well, and the pizza came out delicious. The oven holds up well thanks to its stainless steel construction, and when it came time to clean, all we had to do was remove the door and place it in the dishwasher.

Ultimately, we believe that you’ll enjoy this oven as much as we have based on its ease of use and top-notch cooking performance. You should be able to get a lot of use out of this oven whether at home or on your next camping trip. You’ll also likely impress friends and family on any occasion.

Issues with the Mont Alpi

The Mont Alpi is definitely a great choice if you’re looking for a reliable and efficient outdoor pizza oven, but it isn’t without some problems that could benefit from improvements in later models.

mont alpi temperature

One issue we had was that the oven heats up a little too quickly, to the point where you need to make sure your pizza doesn’t burn up by checking the bottom of the crust once the oven gets over 450 degrees. However, this isn’t really much of a problem if you’re an attentive cook, and you can easily monitor temperature using an infrared thermometer gun that we definitely recommend for serious cooks.

mont alpi handle

We also believe that this model could benefit from some kind of handle that allows users to more easily securely hold the oven when moving it. We were a little worried about dropping it, frankly.

Also, if you’re a fan of authentic Neapolitan-style pizza, this may not be the best oven for you. Many purists love a pizza oven that heats up to over 750 degrees Fahrenheit, but you won’t be able to achieve those kinds of temperatures with this oven. On the other hand, it’s a great buy if you want something that can cook most other foods.

The Final Verdict

The Mont Alpi is an excellent outdoor pizza oven for any homeowner or camper to use. You’ll likely find the Mont Alpi to be one of the best ovens on the market, with a great design that’s built to last and some of the best results. Apart from a few minor issues we had, this oven is a solid recommendation if you want to cook in your backyard or on your next camping trip.
