We love our food and you will too!
In our family owned restaurant, there exists a passion for good food. Pizza dough, sauce and bread are handmade in the artisan tradition daily in our kitchen with the finest available ingredients.

It’s a recipe that works!  At Artisan Pizza Kitchen we roll out more that just handmade pizza dough, bread and sauces.  We add an experienced, dedicated staff and a commitment to our guests and the Chapel Hill community.  Toss in a great location in the middle of East Franklin Street, with easy restaurant access for both pedestrians and motorists.  We are right next to the iconic Shrunken Head Boutique that has been serving Tar Heel Nation for 40 years!

Artisan Pizza Kitchen has been under new ownership since the summer of 2015.  Grey Rogers (a native North Carolinian), wife Kristin and daughter Charlotte aka the Pizza Princess moved from Northern Virginia in August.  The move afforded Grey the opportunity to display his “man cave” collection of Tar Heel memorabilia on the restaurant walls.  Kristin and Charlotte suspect that the collection will grow now that Grey, a long-time Tar Heel fan, is a business owner in the town of his dreams.

Prior to moving to Chapel Hill, Grey’s career has been a smorgasbord of food and beverage experience.  It started in casual dining with waiting tables, progressed to bartending in some of Northern Virginia’s most popular fine dining restaurants and finally into management positions with B.F. Saul hotel properties.  Experience with Aramark at M&T Bank Stadium and Oriole Park at Camden Yards taught him how to serve large numbers of guests quickly while maintaining a high level of service.  At Artisan Pizza Kitchen, Grey combines his knowledge and experience with the extraordinary artisan talents of an experienced pizzaiola and staff to “bring you not great fast food but “great food served fast”.

Besides the growing collection of memorabilia, what can you expect at Artisan Pizza Kitchen?  We have a new logo and fondly refer to ourselves as APK.  There’s a new look to the menu but it still offers all of our guest favorites such as the Artichoke Basil Pizza.  Look for new offerings too such as our version of the Southern “meat and three” to celebrate our return to the south.

It’s also our goal to be involved in the community so be sure to read about our Catering and Fundraising programs.  Finally, nothing about us is stale.  Certainly not our food nor our desire to stay in touch with our guests with new promotions, programs, recipes and specials so be sure to like us on Facebook and Instagram.  Keep the nice comments and reviews coming!  We plan to be here serving you for a long time.  Who knows?  Maybe we’ll serve Tar Heel Nation as long as our neighbor!
